I'm Shaun Curtis and I specialise in SharePoint Consulting.
As well as being my presence on the web, this site is a collection of articles that
share some of my experiences and knowledge in SharePoint and other areas I've
worked in. The majority of articles are SharePoint related, but
other sections cover Active
Directory and Virtualization.
My SharePoint experiences go all the way back to Tahoe. I installed and
evaluated the beta release and implemented
SharePont 2000 when released as a workgroup project tool in a global IT Environment.
We used it to coordinate the activities of geographically dispersed teams work on IT projects and problems.
Since then I've implemented several 2003 instances in companies where I've worked
as a project co-ordination and documentation tool. I've also had
dealings with the Microsoft CMS system!
My first SharePoint 2007 project was a SharePoint 2003
server migration. This held large document
databases that required some major permissions work to migrate. Since then I've developed custom applications including
web parts and custom workflows and designed new user interfaces through themes
and customized master pages.
Before SharePoint my previous working lives include: Senior IT Manager in
a global oilfield company; CTO and Operations Director in a large UK Web Hosting
company; Server and Network Architect. In the world of SharePoint this diverse
experience gives me some fairly unique perspectives, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in an organisation.
